Below is a list of things that would help make my life and work run smoother. I am not soliciting donations, only offering an answer to the question often asked, “Is there anything you need?”

The easiest way to get things here, of course, is to come to visit. Barring that, items can be mailed to:

Yuttadhamma Himi
Ekayana Magga Aranya Senasanaya (Gallena Aranya)
Legumbima
Henegama
Pepilyawala
Sri Lanka

An easier way than sending packages overseas (thanks, Eva), is to use an online shopping centre like Sigirilanka. This company has already sent things to me, so it should be legitimate. Not sure of the prices, though. I am told you have to register, then “Request Products”, and wait for a reply from the company with prices and availability. If they need a contact number, give them 0716394423.

Please don’t send anything without letting me know beforehand – customs here is a bit of a hassle and after a week of keeping a parcel they start charging warehouse rent. Also, contacting us first would allow confirmation that the items listed are still needed.

Things that would make my life easier:

  • talcum (baby) powder – the duct tape of medicines
  • citronella oil – mosquito repellent
  • incense sticks – to dip in the citronella oil

Things that would make my work easier:

  • whiteboard + markers
  • floor microphone stand

Things our monastery could use:

  • water pump
  • water filtration system
  • lighters
  • floor fans
  • meditation mats
  • soft and hard bristle brooms
  • energy-saving lightbulbs (Sri Lankan socket type)
  • mattresses
  • foot-wiping mats
  • misc. tools
