About

About This Weblog
Welcome to my weblog, a place where you can find all sorts of tedious details about my strange life as a Buddhist monk and meditator. I don’t use this weblog to teach, since the medium doesn’t seem suited for that. It does serve as a aggregation of text, audio and video teachings I have given elsewhere, so I hope that makes up for this lack of meaningful post-based content. Mostly, this weblog is just a way of letting those people who are still interested know what I’m up to at any given time. If you are one such person, consider subscribing. Otherwise, there are many more enlightening Buddhist blogs out there, some of which are in the sidebar.

A few technical notes about this weblog:

About The Name
The day before I was to enrobe, a monk in the monastery handed me a piece of paper that said, in Thai, “yuttadhammo – one who has the Dhamma well-composed.” I was well-pleased with this, though a little ashamed to have been given such a self-aggrandizing appellation – I later learned most Thai monk names are of similar character. One day, when the subject came up, someone asked my teacher, in front of me, what my name meant. He said, “yuttadhammo – one who is composed of Dhamma.”

Or, Truth Is Within.
