So, that was an interesting experiment, thanks everyone for the immediate response to our food situation. It, um, didn't quite work as planned, or I suppose lack of planning was really the problem. First, I was woken up at around 3 AM by a phone call telling me about my order of pitas, then this afternoon we received two orders of food, one Italian, the other I haven't seen yet. Unfortunately, we can't accept or keep food in the evening; fortunately, David Holmes is staying with us and he is arranging things, I think.
Point being, some planning is in order here.
First, we still have our food schedule calendar, so I'm going to go back to using that. Here's the calendar page:
Second, about my last blog post, my apologies for simple mindedness; I didn't really think that people would just start sending us food like that at all hours of the day. Please do figure out time changes and such, because when you order online, they seem to want to contact us right after you call them; as to why food was delivered this evening, I'm still wondering. Anyway, http://www.just-eat.ca/area/l8e-hamilton seems to be a very efficient way of ordering food, but there's also an Italian bakery across the street that offered to deliver, so that's also convenient. Their phone number is +1 905-664-3522
Third, there are actually somewhere near four of us here on any given day, so we'll need more food each day than anticipated.
So, then, if you want to offer us food, there's now a submission form here; let us know the day(s) and whether you're ordering online or coming in person.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone who replied and offered to help, it's most appreciated, but it has to be better coordinated, so hopefully this sorts that out.
Other news, we held a press conference about Vesak in Mississauga today; they're holding it on May 31st at Celebration Square. The website is http://www.vesakcelebration.com/. I'll be
mannmonking the Introduction to Buddhism booth.
The trip to Florida is shaping up; had to remove stops once I realized how much time bus travel will take (sorry!). Check http://carika.sirimangalo.org/ for revised schedule.
