Looking forward to going on alms again... Thinking to go out every day regardless of whether anyone is giving food; it's an important tradition and something I think will support our centre greatly in the future, especially if others come to ordain.
One meditator leaving tomorrow, another will finish the course in a few days and hopes to ordain; more hopeful of success this time around, but we'll have to see what the future has in store.
Still not sure if I'll be staying in Manitoba; depends largely on the amount of support we get going forward. Things have been... interesting that past week, as we try to refocus the organization here. I'm afraid I've managed to hurt some people's feelings in the process, and in hindsight (20/20) it could have probably been avoided, but the end result is I think a stronger alignment with the goals of the organization. It just remains to be seen whether there is still enough support for those goals here. Cetainly, there is both support and interest, especially since returning to the city, so there is reason to be hopeful.
The three-month vassa starts Tuesday, so if I'm staying, I'll try to make up my mind by then. If I'm not staying, I guess I would enter the second vassa a lunar month later in Ontario, maybe at Wat Khmer Krom of Stoney Creek.
Another episode in the life of a Buddhist monk. All is well, be well :)
