Today, I’m off to Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo County, California. Should nothing change for the drastic (no bets…), I’ll be spending the next three months in an apartment above a real estate agency and across from a Thai restaurant.
It’s a three-bedroom, full-floor abode (second floor), as seen in the following image:
The address is 502/E W. Grand Ave, Grover Beach, CA. The entrance is the last door on the right in the above picture.
I visited the place already; the weather is nice, a ten-minute walk to the ocean. It is said to be a retirement town, relying on tourism to fuel its economy. There are no monks living in the area, and only one Buddhist church, from the Japanese Pure Land school. I went to visit and had a nice talk with the sensei there. He said that there are many meditation groups in the area.
Anyway, it’s a place to stay, and it may very well turn out to be a place to live.
