But savaged with problems or not, you will find, among the homeless, in greater proportion than in the general population, people with mighty hearts and kind natures – folks who are likable, lovable, thoughtful and as generous as they can be. Not surprisingly, Jesus was homeless [Matt 8:20], as was Buddha. And as are saints [like St. Francis and Margaret of Cortona] and bodhisattvas [like Layman Pang and Noah Yuttadhammo].
Sorry Tom, I may be a bum, but I’m no Bodhisattva.
Hallelujah I’m a Bum
Rejoice and be glad, for the springtime has come,
We can throw down our shovels and go on the bum.[Chorus]
Hallelujah, I’m a bum,
Halleljuh, bum again,
Hallelujah, give us a hand-out to revive us again. The springtime has come and I’m just out of jail,
Without any money, without any bail.I went to a house and I rapped on the door,
And the lady said, “Bum bum, you’ve been here before.”I like Jim Hill 83 , he’s a good friend of mine,
That is why I am hiking down Jim Hill’s main line.Oh, why don’t you work like other men do?
How can I work when there’s no work to do?I went to a house, and I asked for some bread;
And the lady says, “Bum bum, the baker is dead.”Why don’t you work like other men do?
How can I work when there’s no work to do?Why don’t you save all the money you earn?
If I didn’t eat, I’d have money to burn.I don’t like work and work don’t like me,
And that is the reason I am so hungry.

there is a shabby but very nice place with 3 more or less habitable kuties in Thailand, Baan Pa Mai, if you want to take over, let me know, the nun can stay somewhere else.
Why would I want to go to Thailand?
hmmm, after considering for a long while: I don't know, can't find any reason.
and as it seems you found alternatives in the meantime. Good!
I remember listening to this song on Dad's "gramaphone" up in the workshop. Really brings back memories.
Yeah, we used to laugh at it… now I'm living it
