Back in Wat Mahadhatu, a home away from home, as always. There's only a few places in Thailand that make me feel like I've lived here before, and this cramped living space with over 200 resident monks is surely one of them. Old things always stir up these assumed past life sensations... wonder if that's a reason many people are fond of antiques? This place truly old, and much of it familiarly so, in a way I can't put a finger on - not that I really try to do so. Hanging out with Pali scholars and memorizing my grammar texts is higher on the list of priorities. And alms round in the city.
26th I'll be in LA at 1920h - arriving 10 minutes before I leave Bangkok, in a miracle of modern time travel or example of human absurdity, I haven't decided which. Bangkok is nice, just too hot. Makes me sleepy.
Oh, and I'm going to start using my gmail account now for regular email. Just don't expect much in the way of replies.
