Today I met with the King of Uganda. We discussed philosophy and religion, and in answer to his question, I explained that Buddhism has no problem with the fact of Jesus being the son of God. Nor, I added, do we have any problem with any religion. If people do good deeds, they will get good results.
He asked what Christian concepts we might not agree with, and I said that we might have a problem with the concept of an eternal soul. He seemed puzzled, and asked whether we thought the soul was not permanent. I answered that, no, we don't hold the belief of a soul at all.
His last comment: "I hope both of you (me and my friend) enjoy your vacation."
Later I found out he wasn't actually coronated... he appointed himself.
